I asking that we OPT-Out of the mask mandate. Our kids are at a higher risk of suicide than Covid. Our kids need to face every new cold and virus head on and become immune to them in order for us to get past this pandemic. Just reported in Denver 72,000 kids tested positive for Covid and less than 1% have died and that because they had underlying conditions. We should let the parents who know their kids and family to make the right choice for them. When you start masking younger kids who don't only wear their mask wrong but they are messing with them all the time you spread the virus quicker. They touch their noses and mouth and then touch everything at school. Right now there is better hand washing and hands away from faces and more learning going on. The mask don't work! The boxes strictly say don't protect against covid. Lets teach our kids that healthy hand washing and habits. Let the parents do what is best for them.

PLEASE, PLEASE Commissioners, please OPT OUT of the Tri-County Health Department mask mandate for the 2-11 year old age group. This blanket mandate does not make sense for the entire county. Please leave the mask policy up to the individual schools, daycares, etc. Then parents can make choices on where their children attend.
I believe in the science, I believe in COVID & I understand the Delta variant is more contagious. But the numbers do not support mandating masks for this age group. Masks that don't work, since the particles of the virus are so small they can get through any non-medical grade mask. The benefits DO NOT outweigh the risk in this issue.
The risks... restricted breathing, headaches, bacterial infections from rebreathing dirty air, anxiety, fear of whats happening around them, claustrophobia, lost social connection/friends development, lost facial cues, not understanding emotion, etc. These are the precious years of character development, please don't stunt them!

Truly feel let down by TriCounty recently. Please heed the voices of your community. We have been unnecessarily divided on this issue.

Our children are not the demographic most affected physically by COVID, yet are suffering by undue rules and guidelines that do not make sense. (For example, masking inside the school building, yet sharing community supplies, yet not needing masks outside.) Masking must be a choice, especially this late in the game. Let them be kids, and please don't make damaging decisions about their body they may be uncomfortable with. Please make this a choice. Parents have the ultimate decision regarding their childrens' health.

Based on science, can you guarantee that my masked child will not get CoVID-19?

Based on science, can you guarantee that my child will not be harmed from wearing a mask all day at school?

If you cannot make these guarantees, based on science, then why is anyone trying to force their opinions on what is the best choice for my child?

Please opt out and let the parents decide what is best for their children.

Please opt out of the TCHD mask mandate for all children. Childcare licensing does NOT allow any suffocation or choking hazards in any area of the facility accessible to children under 3. All masks (with proper warnings and descriptions) intended for use by children 2+ provide a warning either by the manufacturer or retailer for the risks of suffocation and choking and don’t recommending them for children under 3. We can presume manufacturers and retailers don’t want to exclude anyone from buying their product and thus should not take these warnings lightly. Furthermore, CDPHE provided a COVID guidance for childcare facilities recommending children under 3 to NOT wear a mask in a child care setting. The WHO does NOT recommend the use of a facial covering for children 5 and younger for the safety and overall interest of the child and based on the capacity to appropriately use a mask with minimal assistance. TCHD blatantly disregarded these warnings when implementing their mask mandate.

Please opt of this. We should not be forced to wear a mask. Especially children. If you feel like a mask protects you then wear one but don't mandate the rest of the people to wear one. We have freedom of choice at least last time I checked. Say no to mandating masks.

Please opt out of this. Our Children should NOT be required to wear masks all day as it can be harmful to their mental health & can create major communication issues with Teachers/Staff which can inhibit their learning.

Masks are needed and important to stop the spread of Covid in our community. And it works best when ALL wear them. If some families opt out then it is impacting my students who do and passing it along to my immunio-compromised family. Public safety should come first and with this delta variant in our community and the hospitals becoming overwhelmed, we need to do this little measure to help. Please put health and safety above people's 'feelings' and require masks for at least the children (2-11) that cannot be vaccinated yet.

Adams County, please opt out of the Tri-County Health mask mandate for kids 2 to 11. I believe this decision should be up to the parents and the individual school districts.

Please allow Bennett School District 29J to opt out of the mask mandate for students ages 2-11. Masks should be free choice for our youngest learners as the mask will cause many distractions for both the student and the teachers. Please leave this decision up to each school district as they know what is best for their community. Children at Bennett Elementary had no issues with student transmission of COVID last year and were not required to wear a mask. Please give parents the right to do what is best for their family.

I am requesting that Adams County OPT OUT of the Tri-County Health Department's mandatory mask mandate for children 2-11 years old. I strongly feel the child's legal guardian should make this decision based on the child's needs. I feel there is a more effective way to promote a safer environment for children. Mask have been proven minimally effective, all the while muzzling our children's little voices causing stressors to their mental and emotional state, day in and day out. Please have faith in the parents, they know what is best for each of their children, whether it be masked or unmasked. Let's continue to believe in our right for freedom, of which our country is founded on. God bless you all and God bless America.

OPT OUT - The psychological and developmental harm of masking young children is worse than CV19. Facial expressions are integral to human connection, especially for young children. Masks mute this form of communication, leaving emotionless interactions. Seeing people speak is a building block of phonetic development. Young children especially, need to see our facial expressions.

Besides, a toddler would never wear a mask properly all day anyways. They’re dirty and constantly touched, spreading germs. They don’t keep them on and end up just being a distraction to their learning.

In addition, a universal mandate on an entire county assumes that all kids and situations are the same, which could not be further from the truth.

Any parent that wants their child to wear a mask should be free to do so. But forcing us to make personal and developmental sacrifices is abusive and most importantly a decision that should never be made on my child’s behalf by anyone other than myself.

I'm writing to ask that you opt out of the mask mandate. I believe that freedom of choice is the best policy during these difficult times. Teaching our children that it is ok to be an individual and make decisions about yourself based on your belief rather than following a mandate that is not medically founded. Masks are a distraction and can impose significant health challenges when not used correctly. The 2-12 age class has shown low infection rates and should not be targeted in this type of mandate.

We are 100% against the mask mandate and ask that you opt out of TCHD. Trying to force masks upon our children is abusive and unsanitary in so many ways! No one should be allowed to make a decision for our children except ourselves as parents. Wearing a dirty mask all day in school will do way more harm than good to these little people who need to be able to breath fresh air and grow their immune systems. This is such an important time where kids need to be able to see the emotional expressions on their peers and teachers faces, learn to communicate effectively, hear one another speak clearly and just be kids! This should absolutely be a parental choice and WE have the right to make this decision for our children. If you want your child to wear a mask, have at it! We should not make those that do not want this suffer for the small fraction that do!

Adam’s please Opt out of the TCHD Mask Mandate. I am a mother of a 10 yr old and 6 yr old in the Bennett School district. After reading the comments on the agenda opposing this mandate in the groves, seeing the Staggering 74% of Adam’s County on the TCHD Survey oppose, and the Bennett School District survey opposing by 78%, I am started to see a trend. Your constituents have spoken, and on many platforms and levels opposing this Mandate. And I believe many are opposing this because they want their own county and districts to be allowed to make decisions of their own without Blanket Policies coming from unelected officials how are trying to over speak and compensate for 3 Counties. Arapahoe and Douglas have already opted out because they believe their districts should be able to make their own decisions based on their districts needs. Adam’s County School Districts should be allowed to do the same. Please allow us to speak and mandate for ourselves. Freedom only comes in form, CHOICE!

Please opt out of the mask mandate. Parents of children should be responsible for making the determination for their kids to wear a mask. Masks are detrimental for children with speech delays and hearing impairments. Most masks are cloth which studies have shown cloth masks do very little on the protection front. Plus wearing masks has its own health risks due to the build up of bacteria where you breath. Parents should be responsible for weighing the pros and cons for their children and should have the right to choose how to best protect their children. Please opt out of the mask mandate.

NO MASKS FOR KIDS or at least let the parents decide. Too many so-called "certainties" in managing Covid our government has instituted since the beginning of the pandemic have been marginally effective, sometimes even worse (ex. Nursing homes), and their position on what's best for the people has continuously changed (yes, that's just the fluid nature of science; but these "experts" rarely ADMIT they're "unsure"). We've all seen how the extreme measures have yielded minimal benefit. Yet here we are again performing another knee-jerk reaction on humans who are the least impacted by Covid (kids), It should be a choice since "the facts" are continually being disputed. Teachers were already vaccinated, they were forced into it so they could be teachers again. Everyone else has already chosen their vax/no-vax sides already, it's not the kid's jobs to protect EITHER. Stop forcing small children to partake in this minimally effective practice of masking up in class.
